Pinch Block

Pinch blocks are easy to make from three 2x4s (note: for people with smaller hands, this might be too wide, and you might want to opt for a thinner piece of plywood in the middle instead). Make sure to either use a nail gun or conceal any connecting screws, so there is no chance of snagging one with your fingertips. You may also want to use wood glue in between for added stability. The eyebolt should be screwed in directly in the middle of the pinch block, into a pre-drilled hole. To add weight, hang plates off a sling and attach the sling to the eyebolt using a locking carabiner. Make sure to warm up into your working weights, always starting with a lighter weight. Unless otherwise specified, you will have the same work/rest structure as max hangs:
