ONE FOOT, TWO FEET

Climbing

Movement Drills

Pick 2–3 climbs in a range of styles and angles, 2–4 grades below your redpoint. Climb each one twice using the following methods:

1) One-foot: Try to make each hand movement while keeping just one foot on the wall. Use flagging (back flag, inside flag, etc.) to shift your balance point as needed. Repeat the climb to try to make it feel smoother and more efficient.

2) Two-feet: Try to make each hand movement while keeping both feet on the wall. Think about utilizing drop-knees, smearing, etc., to shift your balance point as needed. Repeat the climb to try to make it feel smoother and more efficient.

Pay attention to which method feels more comfortable and if certain angles are more conducive to either method.
